I received this holster for my FNS-9C months ago and have been wearing it daily since I got it. Range time with this holster has been excellent as well. Smooth draws and easy re-holstering. As with any other SAC product that I've had, the retention is perfect, you know when your pistol is properly holstered. The edges are polished nice and smooth making this holster very comfortable. There is no pinching or odd shifting at all. If you're at all inclined to try appendix carry...this is the rig to get. Originally I ordered this holster without the kicker...I have since added it and recommend that it is ordered with the holster. It keeps the butt of the pistol tucked nice and close to the body.
Yankee is an IWB Kydex holster with an attached mag carrier (one piece). It is made specifically for appendix/center line carry; this is NOT a holster for your hip.
The Yankee attaches to your belt with two pull the dot soft loops which provides you the ability to tuck in your shirt.
The retention on the magazine holder is adjustable. The magazine will be oriented so that the top of the mag is about level with the top of the firearm.
Standard configuration will be corresponding gun and magazine (i.e., Glock 19 gun w/ Glock 19 mag). We are happy to adapt the standard configuration (i.e., Glock 19 gun w/ Glock 17 mag); if you are interested in this, please note the change in the special instructions before adding Yankee to your cart.
I've been using SAC since the beginning. Before Mark came out with the Yankee I had tried a couple of the big name holsters that come in this style. It was my opinion that they were bulky and printed too much. When Mark told me he was coming out with his own take on this style I was excited to give it a try. Upon receiving the holster I was extremely impressed with the quality (as usual). I was also pleased with how comfortable this rig is despite the size. There's no way around it with these designs, they are just big. But with that said SAC has really designed a quality holster in this configuration that is not overly bulky and is comfortable to wear. One thing that I think sets this design apart from other designs is the use of belt loops instead of clips. I've personally seen holsters with clips come out during training courses. The belt loops on this model eliminate that problem. Overall this holster exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for this style of holster.
I carry my M&P9C AIWB in a Kilo, or 3:30 in a Spartan. I needed an AIWB option for my Shield (currently using an Alpha). I always carry a spare magazine in a Sierra Gen2, so I decided to give this sidecar style AIWB a go. As usual, the quality is outstanding. Edges are all perfectly smooth, draw is great. This holster doesn't have an audible "click" when the firearm is inserted - all the other SAC pieces I own do. Does that affect retention? Nope. Not a jot. When I first put it on it felt a little strange, but once I figured out that turning my belt buckle to the side a little would help, it's a very comfortable carry. Mark was able to create this holster to accommodate my CT green laser; this added no extra length to the holster as he modified the design so that he eliminated the struts. This means that my Yankee isn't tuckable - but I actually prefer that - because there are no struts, this thing is super stable when worn. I love it. I wear it everyday, and have yet to find anything about it that I don't like. Any holster you buy from SAC will be excellent - but this one is my new favourite EDC. Thanks, Mark! Always a pleasure.
