The Spartan is a dedicated inside-the-waist (IWB) holster. This is not an outside-the-waist (OWB) holster that has been retrofitted for IWB use. You can not use The Spartan for anything other than IWB carry.

This holster has many cant and height adjustment options as well as a tuckable IWB option.

Kydex thickness: .080

    The Spartan

Posted by Stephen on Apr 22nd 2017

Took a little longer than expected to get the holster but the product is well worth the wait! Also I got several updates from their support team to let me know the status on my order. Not only am I super impressed with the holster but their customer support was phenomenal! The holster is very comfortable with my Springfield XDM 40 4.5 with the TLR-1 HL tac light which is a pretty big gun for concealed but with the Spartan being at the 4 o'clock position you can't even see any print. I will be for sure ordering from Squared Away Customs again as well as some friends and family trying to decide which holster to pick at the moment.

    Black Suede holster for a full size M & P 40

Posted by John on Dec 28th 2016

Outstanding holster. I have one for a 3" Kimber 1911 also and i wanted one for my M & P 40 full size. The Spartan is probably one of the most comfortable holsters i have ever worn. It will hide a full size gun even under just a t-shirt. The customer service is excellent and i recieved this holster in one week because he had it in stock probably cause somebody retuned it. If you need a good Kydex holster you could not go wrong with this Company. I love both of my Spartans.t

Really Beautiful and Secure IWB for my Shield 9mm

Posted by xdalaw on Nov 25th 2016

I purchased this IWB holster (along with a matching Sierra Mag carrier) for my S&W Shield 9mm pistol. Like the Sierra, the quality and fit are excellent. I chose police blue for both, and the color was just what I wanted. Like it so much I just ordred another for my new Glock 19. :)

    Excellent, High Quality Holster.

Posted by Tyler Austin on Nov 4th 2016

I received my Spartan holster a year ago for my Glock 30S and have been using it quite frequently since I got it. I will say right off the bat that it is excellent. I had this holster made specifically with a zero can't for Appendix carry and it is an excellent choice for Appendix carry. It is comfortable through out the day, and does not shift from where you place it. On occasion I will also wear this on my 5 0'clock and it is just as comfortable. Retention is excellent. SAC's holster do have a higher level of retention than most other companies holsters. They are about an 8/10. Really my only complaint with this holster is when I first got it, it was a little to tight, but after a few hundred draw strokes it "broke in" and loosend up a bit. Now after several thousand draw strokes, it still retains the gun nice and tight. If you are looking for an IWB holster, this is an excellent choice out of all the other excellent products SAC has to offer. If you are interested, I also have a video review of this holster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXQ2tOc26zo&list=PLJqxzjEedfiHJ5JZ_pryfwXowtDTaoRVZ&index=1

Great holster from an OUTSTANDING company!

Posted by John A. on Nov 2nd 2016

I got this holster in the Carbon Fiber flavor for my HK P2000SK.

I'm not really a Kydex guy, most of my holsters are custom-leather. My other Kydex holsters are...adequate but are terribly uncomfortable and aren't designed very ergonomically.

I've spoken with Mark a few times and I think this is just a great place to do business with. For a busy guy running a small business that is in high demand, he takes the time to speak to people and keeps his finger on the pulse of his customers. Bravo!

    Now, on to my review:

    I. Construction
This holster has been well thought out. It is molded with an offset seam. That is, the seam of the Kydex is centered, not on the sights like most holsters, but rather, on the person's body. This offset places the grip of the gun at an angle towards your body, instead of parallel. Having a small waistline, I cannot stress how crucial this is in concealment.

The Kydex is a sturdy material that seems thick enough that it wont crack or warp. However, it is thin enough to add very minimal girth to the firearm as a whole--very important for IWB.

The struts are a firm, but somewhat flexible poly material that has a slight bend, further pushing the grip of the firearm towards the body. It has rubber spacers and ride height and cant are adjustable as well.

The leading edge (top) of the holster has a curve that makes this holster perfect from 2:30 to about 5:30.

The edges. Everyone has commented, but it cannot be stressed enough, how great the edges are! I've ordered Kydex holsters that I've had to spend about 2 hours on with sandpaper to make it ALMOST as good as the edges on my Spartan. The edges are so well buffed, they look melded together.

The rivets are strong and tight.

    II. Retention
Retention is excellent. It survives the "upside-down-shake-test" with a fully loaded (+1) weapon. However, draw is smooth and my pants don't ride up when I draw.

    III. Snaps
The adjustable snaps are the "Pull-the-Dot" variety which locks in place, to be opened only one way--from the top. I have ordered extras to add to my other holsters.

    IV. Overall
Overall, this is a great holster. The total package is compact without any excess material. The holster covers the gun with a sweat-shield and folds over the muzzle just enough. The design makes it very comfortable, more comfortable than some of my custom leather holsters.

I will be ordering more holsters for my other guns and for other methods of carry.

    Great Holster (4.5 Stars)

Posted by M. van Westenbrugge on Oct 22nd 2016

This holster is a great example of how they should be made!
I currently carry a Beretta 92FS and they molded the Kydex very professionally! Because of the weight of this fully loaded firearm I was in search for a "two LOOP" (NOT clip) all Kydex holster that is tuckable. SAC had the great solution. It was crafted and finished very professionally! The edges are perfectly rounded, it has a high enough Sweat-Guard (even for the Beretta)! It's thick kydex, so very durable and any print you put on (I ordered Black Carbon Fiber) comes out beautiful!
    A couple points of thought...
The holster comes with a pre-set retention (not adjustable) and that can be hard. My Spartan holster was very tight, even too tight, where it took two hands with full strength to draw the weapon. After I went through the process of Drawing and Re-holstering and putting some gun oil in the part that was hampering my draw (the part that covers the trigger guard, this is where the retention of the firearm is held), it went much smoother. Just know that you're going to have a high amount of retention. In other words... if you don't want high retention... talk to Mark, he might be able to help you!
The rest of the inside of the holster is perfectly molded, which minimizes "finish wear" on your weapon.
One other thought is the material used for the "holster-legs" where the loops are mounted on. These are made of, relatively flexible" plastic. They work, pretty good but with my first couple draws the holster came up, half way out of the waistband (held down by the loops), which put significant stress on those plastic "legs". They did flex, but didn't break and also didn't stay bend. Overall, they are good, especially when you have worked the holster a little bit, where the retention came down a little bit.
These are the only two remarks I have about this All-Kydex holster!
It an amazing holster, comfortable, well-made, American-made, and professionally crafted!
Be patient on the delivery time (it arrived 7 weeks after I ordered mine), its worth the wait!
Thanks Squared Away Customs! great product!
